The beauceron has short fur, its outer coat is thick and hard, its wooly undercoat protects it and keeps the warmth during cold nights and bad weather conditions. With its alert and courageous gaze, it gives off a respectable aura. It has a long chiseled head and a somewhat pointy snout of normal length. Their natural ears are half pricked or drop-ears, though unfortunately cropped ears aren't unheard of. Cropped ears are banned in countries like Sweden and is something Dogs Savvity are also against.

Just like their cousin The Briard, beauceron's have a double declaw.

Just like the Briard they were of great Help during the world wars, though the breed almost faced extinction after both wars. The preservation of the breed was made with great effort, using only 50 typical represents to restore it.

A lively dog filled with curiosity and courage, these working machines acts perfectly as protectors and guardian-dogs, meaning they can act aloof with strangers and be a bit protective. These powerful units acts wise and fair, should not have any insecurities or fears and they are sharp minded with great responsiveness. Because if this, they are in great need of a lot of exercise and mentally challenging work in order to stay harmonious and happy. Though happy to work, they have an independent nature and possess integrity. Beauceron's matures very slowly and cannot be considered fully mature until they're the age of 3. They are not recommended for first time owners.

Beauceron does not have any breed specific health issues. As with any large or deep-chested dog, beauceron's may be susceptible to bloat, a sudden and life-threatening stomach condition.

Responsible breeders will screen their breeding stock health conditions such as hip dysplasia, heart disease, eye problems, and allergies. As with all breeds, a Beauceron's ears should be checked regularly, and the teeth should be brushed often.
